HGC Gradient Masthead
Measuring Spring Discharge from Arizona's Largest Aquifer

by: John J. Ward

Hydro Geo Chem has embarked on an extensive inventory of water resources on nearly 3 million acres of National Forest lands. The project includes quantifying discharge from numerous springs emanating from the Colorado Plateau’s Coconino aquifer, which encompasses 28,000 square miles of Arizona and New Mexico. Computer modeling of projected groundwater pumping from this aquifer will result in evaluating the vulnerability of these resources.
