Representative Experience

• Ongoing development of a proprietary chemical remediation method for removing perchlorate from groundwater.

• Assisted in developing and assessing a method to bioremediate TCE and vinyl chloride in contaminated groundwater by nutrient addition to encourage the growth of dehalococcoides as the primary halorespirator.

• Conceptual development of a biological method to remediate perchlorate in groundwater.

• Conceptual development of a proprietary method to chemically destroy high levels of cyanide in wastewater.

• Investigations into the problem of speciation between inorganic mercury, ethyl mercury, and methyl mercury during chemical analysis.

• Assisted in the development of direct photolysis of NDMA in drinking water using low pressure UV radiation, including conducting bench and pilot tests.

• Assisted in the development of UV- initiated hydroxyl radical oxidation of MTBE and 1,4-Dixoane in wastewater.

• Investigations into the use of dye sensitizers in advanced UV oxidation of contaminants.

• Investigations of chromium oxidation in soils.

• Assisted in the review of possible selenium remediation methods for contaminated soils.

• Performed initial assessment for Jet Fuel remediation methods. Helped develop an in-situ nutrient delivery method when bioremediation was determined to be the method of choice.

• Instructor, Don Bosco Technical College, Orange County College, Riverside City College, Saddleback College, and St. Francis College (Maine). Taught college chemistry full- and part-time.

• Analytical Chemist at E.R. Squibb, Lever Brothers, NYU Medical Center, and Downstate Medical Center. Assisted in developing analytical methods, performed analyses of pharmaceuticals and medical biochemicals in research.

• Microbiological Technician, St. Vincent Hospital (Massachusetts). Performed medical microbiological and biochemical analyses.
