Damian L. Gosch, M.S.
Project Hydrogeolgist

DGoschExpertise

Mr. Gosch joined Hydro Geo Chem, Inc., as a Hydrogeologist and Surface Water Hydrologist and has over ten years of experience in groundwater and surface water modeling, contaminant monitoring, site remediation, data analysis, and reporting; has managed and conducted field activities at numerous mining and superfund sites; and is well-versed in conducting hydrogeological investigations of surface water and groundwater interactions.

Project Experience

• Hydrologist: Design, implementation, and on-site management of dewatering program. Managed installation of dewatering wells and pumps, geologic logging, and geologic interpretation. Coordinated aquifer tests, groundwater and horizontal drain flow, and blast hole monitoring. Managed site-wide Access database with well piezometer, horizontal drain, borehole, and water quality data. Maintain and install Sensemetrics monitoring systems.

• Surface Water Hydrogeologist: Design, install, and manage removal of smelter affected soils as part of a voluntary remediation project. Characterization of soils and determining depths of removal for soils containing contaminants of concern. Coordinate confirmation sampling and conducting XRF analysis on samples. Design, drill, build, and develop monitor wells and pumping wells for mine sites, landfills, and municipalities. Conduct pumping test analysis utilizing AQTESOLV software. Conduct surface water models for CLOMR and LOMR projects utilizing GeoHEC-RAS and AutoCAD software. Production of site maps indicating well locations, water levels, water quality, and site boundaries using ESRI GIS software. Provide cost estimate for monitoring well drilling program at Resolution Copper Mine Site that included drilling, well install, well development, and pumping test costs.

• Hydrogeologist: Participated in the implementation of the monitored natural attenuation remedy at Apache Nitrogen, Inc. Constructed monitoring and pumping wells within the nitrate and perchlorate plume, and planned the in-situ remediation efforts to reduce nitrate-N concentrations. Conducted wetlands monitoring, sampling, and maintained wetlands for efficient denitrification processes. Collected, assessed, and reported water, soil, and vapor samples, and analyzed results for contaminate migration and at multiple remediation projects with ADEQ WQARF and LUST sites. Conducted well and surface water sampling for emerging contaminants PFOA and PFOS within Pima County.

• Hydrology: Performed quarterly monitoring, sampling, and maintenance at municipal well locations. Observe drilling and building of production wells and conduct pump testing analysis.
