
Stephen
B. Smith, P.E. Mr. Smith is the President and Chief Operations
Officer of Hydro Geo Chem, Inc. He has more than 28 years of
experience in solid waste engineering in the United States and
in other countries including Argentina, Chile, Columbia, Israel,
Mexico, Peru, and South Korea. Experience includes developing,
planning, designing and implementing various programs for collection,
transfer, treatment, landfilling, bioreactor design, landfill
gas collection and control, landfill gas to energy, and recovery,
recycling, composting, and marketing of various byproducts.
Mr. Smith compliments these programs with experience in solid
waste management, landfill construction, environmental engineering,
and compliance/safety training, including extensive experience
in management of landfill and transfer operations.
James
Peck, P.E.
Mr.
Peck is HGC’s Vice President of Engineering and in-house
legal counsel. Mr. Peck has 12 years of experience in solid
waste engineering, including landfill gas evaluation, gas collection
system design, base lining and final cover system design, construction
management, and regulatory permitting issues. He serves on the
Rules and Regulations Subcommittee of the Landfill Gas Section
of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) and
as Legislative Liaison for the Arizona Chapter of SWANA. Mr.
Peck is licensed as a Civil Engineer in Arizona, California,
Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Washington. He is also licensed
as an attorney in Arizona.
Harold Bentley, Ph.D. Dr. Bentley
is
Hydro Geo Chem, Inc’s Principal Scientist and is a recognized
expert in the fields of groundwater chemistry, environmental
tracers, and the fate of organic contaminants in the subsurface.
He is the principal developer of HGC's
Baro-Pneumatic Method
for measuring LFG generation,
and has presented several presentations at national and international
seminars related to the measurement of landfill gas generation
and emissions modeling.
Richard
Petrus M.S. Mr. Petrus has developed Arizona-specific solid
waste management expertise covering landfill design, permitting,
construction management, lateral expansion, and closure. Additionally,
he has managed methane monitoring and abatement projects at
several landfill sites.
Stewart Smith, M.S. Mr.
Smith joined Hydro Geo Chem, Inc. in 1989 as a Hydrogeologist.
With over 23 years experience, Mr. Smith performs numerical
modeling of baro-pneumatic data for estimating landfill gas
generation at landfill facilities as well as the performance
of gas collection systems at the conceptual design level.
Warren
Thompson, B.S. Mr. Thompson manages
construction and installation of remedial systems for HGC's
landfill projects. He has installed more than 10 large scale
SVE systems with capabilities ranging from 50 to 2,000 scfm
and 3 groundwater pump-and-treat systems used to remediate VOC
contamination beneath landfills.
